Thank you fiance for this..

P/S: He also DIY a wooden table.. but it is not worth sharing here.. bwahaha... it's too ugly.. but hell ya.. I am using it anyway...

The Brilliance machine: The decorative sticthes won't work on compatible needle. You must use Singer original needle and they can be purchased at RM4 per packet of 10's. I used 1 original needle (include with the purchase) and broke it when I tried to sew a hem on denim. And of course I replaced it with a compatible needle which is RM0.80 per packet of 10's. But most of the stitches just won't work until I replace it another original needle. Machine starts when you press the peddle lightly at low speed.

The Harmony machine: You need to hold both the threads (top and bobbin) before you actually press the peddle or else the needle will be unthread (my own word) and you will need to re-thread the needle again. And you need to press the peddle harder and machine starts at top speed before you can even control it to low or medium speed.. or just maybe I don't know (yet) how to control the speed yet. When using the bulb, it get hot faster thank goodness you only need to switch on the power to use the machine (without switching on the light) .. and very suitable to use during day light. Then again, u can also use it night time with the lights.. but not for long hours.. as it will get hot..

The rest are more or less the same :)

Now I am with EPAL

I participate on the Janome Harmony 2049 package.. RM2499 including the machine, 1 year sewing course and extra 15 pcs (5 already included) of presser feet and of course books, patterns and VCDs.... The sewing courses are less on dress making and more on patch work and quilting. They also teach us how to make slipper/sandal.. it's kinda cool.. but other than becoming a VIP member (purchase the machine) we must also buy the materials (for the project) from EPAL. And they are ready made. It is good for beginners. If you'r e interested to join the course.. feel free to drop a comment..
They say this is the utmost multi-purpose machine ever.. as a beginner.. I don't know that yet.. how ever I will do a review on both my machines later.

That is my first project with this machine.. oh ya... I name this machine as Harr... so each time I use her.. I will indicate Harr in the label.. :) gosh I can't wait to learn...

Oh ya.. the EPAL in Kota Kinabalu branch is located at Wawasan Plaza. Ground floor.. very easy to locate... so for one whole year I will be hanging out with other sewists from all over Sabah (perhaps) to learn how to sew anything... amen!

My very first project

My very first project.. (if u ask who is that? Yes, it is me..)

This used to be my sweater... too old fashion and too plain.. I feel no more regret if I could transform this into unsuccessful or successful item...
And there, after a whole day.. this is what happened to that old plain sweater... it has transformed into a sweet blouse.. still a lot defects.. and I am happy with it..

This is my second project...
I made this bikini from my old blouse (stretchy) for my 4 year old niece... she loved it.. I am glad.. although there are a lot of defects if you could see closely in detail.. but I am happy with the outcome :)

My first ever sewing machine

After the long thought, comparison & consideration of which sewing machine suits me best.. in terms of me as a beginner and budget wise.. I have finally decided to buy SINGER 6180 Brilliance since my sister and sister-in-law owned one too...I actually tested on it.. and it is easy to use.. and has lots more to offer to a beginner like me.. I call my sewing machine 'Brill' hehehhee... I only made up my mind last Friday.. I wanted to take the SINGER 2624 which operates mechanically and is only RM100 cheaper.. I might as well get Brill which is computerised... I can only hope that I made the right choice.. saying so because the sister and the sister-in-law are beginners too.. haha.. we don't know how good or bad this machine is yet... oh ya... it is RM1445 for Sabah and Sarawak.. and if you are in the Malaysian Peninsular it is RM1295 :)...

I also decided to learn how to sew from youtube.com and postpone on taking sewing classes because tuition fees are expensive... I'm sure I can learn it by myself... because my late Mom did it that way :)

And here it is... Brill... with her features...

-80 Built-In Stitches
-6 Fully Automatic 1-Step Buttonholes
-Automatic Needle Threader
-Adjustable Stitch Length and Width
-Variable Needle Positions for precise top stitching
-Automatic Tension keeps stitches balanced and even
-Quick Start Guide included for easy 5-minute start
-Stitch Guide tells you when and how to use built-in stitches
-Class 15 Metal Bobbins
-Heavy Duty Metal Frame

P/S: Above pic taken from www.singerco.uk my real Brill is not here with me yet... I am waiting for her to be delivered to me.. hehehe... they say Wednesday.. I can't wait..

About this blog

Hello readers and followers.. ahaks.. apparently I have none at the moment... please let me know if you're my first follower... okay!

First of all, I created this blog in 2004 adedei.. it was the early stage of my blogging life.. I create this page to do experiments on HTML scripts... playing with colours and things like that.. back then.. I have to calculate manually on the length, width, side bar... topic column and all that stuffs.. i even use a ruler to measure LOL... unlike today everything is automatic.. thanks to the technology.. and yes of course I have a few more accounts with another blog provider... but I simply love blogger... and all my blogs are under blogger.com... it's free and it's easy to use, easy to modify, customise etc...

Anyway.... this blog is about my hobby...my passion... I love to bake... and I also love handcrafts... I especially love knitting and crocheting... I have always love to sew... I have sewn some bags by hand... all this while am using my very own hand to sew... but recently I fell in love with sewing with a machine... when I try on sewing with a machine... it was so much faster and neat.. I thought I can do much more...right now I am intending to pursue further... but first I must get a sewing machine... perhaps sewing class will help... :)
